Submission Guidelines
You are very welcome to submit a paper by
MAY 2, 23:59 h CET (extended deadline), sending it as a Microsoft Word file to
SECRETARIAT [AT] IICREST.EU .
For any submission-related questions, please contact the Chair, Dr. Boris Shishkov (b.b.shishkov [at] iicrest.eu).
By May 13 the contact authors will be notified if their papers are accepted or rejected. The authors of accepted papers will have until
MAY 27 to submit the camera-ready versions of their papers (please, read carefully the instructions below!) and only those papers which are received no later than the mentioned date and properly formatted, will be included in the proceedings.
---
Authors should submit original papers in English, carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling, by sending it in both Word/LaTeX and PDF to secretariat [at] iicrest.eu. The initial submission must have between 3 to 13 pages otherwise it will be rejected without review. Please check the paper formats page so you may be aware of the accepted paper page limits. The guidelines for paper formatting provided at the symposium web ought to be used for all submitted papers. The preferred submission format is the same as the camera-ready format. Please check and carefully follow the instructions and templates provided. Each paper should be in the symposium scope and the paper should clearly indicate the nature of its technical/scientific contribution. Papers that are out of the symposium scope will be rejected without reviews. A "double-blind" paper evaluation method will be used. To facilitate that, all reference to authors will be removed, before submitting the papers for review. After the reviewing process is completed, the contact author (the author who submits the paper) of each paper will be notified of the result, by e-mail. The authors are required to follow the reviews in order to improve their papers before the camera-ready submission. All papers accepted for the symposium, will be published by SciTePress in the BMSD'11 proceedings under an ISBN reference, as long as the camera-ready submission, registration, symposium fee and copyright document have been received but only presented papers will be added to the SciTePress digital library. Extended versions of the best BMSD'11 papers will be published as a volume in Springer's LNBIP series. The book will be issued in 2012 and the best paper authors will be informed about the Springer submission deadline; only those of them who submit their papers in time and properly formatted (as according to the Springer LNBIP requirements) will have their papers published in the book. Further, a short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published in a special issue of the international journal Enterprise Modelling and Information Systems Architectures (EMISA). The invited authors will be informed about the EMISA submission deadline; only those of them who sumbit their papers in time and properly formatted (as according to the EMISA requirements) will have their papers published in the journal.
PAPER SUBMISSION TYPES
Regular Paper Submission
A regular paper presents a work where the research is completed or almost finished. It does not necessarily mean that the acceptance is as a full paper. It may be accepted as a "full paper" (30 min. oral presentation) , a "short paper" (20 min. oral presentation) or a "poster".
Position Paper Submission
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the symposium topic areas. The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of "short paper" or "poster", i.e. a position paper is not a candidate to acceptance as "full paper".
Invited Paper Submission
A limited number of invited papers will be considered, authored by outstanding and/or top relevant researchers with regard to the symposium scope.
PAPER FORMATS
All papers accepted for the symposium, whatever the presentation format, will be published in the proceedings under an ISBN reference, as long as the camera-ready submission, registration, symposium fee and copyright document have been received but only presented papers will be added to the SciTePress digital library.
There are three paper types for the symposium, namely:
- Full Papers: Papers allocated 30 minutes for oral presentation (including discussion). These papers are assigned a 10-page limit in the symposium proceedings.
- Short Papers: Papers allocated 20 minutes for oral presentation (including discussion). These papers are assigned a 6-page limit in the symposium proceedings.
- Posters: Papers presented as poster are assigned a 4-page limit in the symposium proceedings.
If absolutely needed, it will be allowed to increase the total number of pages by a maximum of 4 extra pages. However, for each excess page the author will have to pay an additional fee.
The author who has an accepted paper, irrespective of the paper type (full paper, short paper or poster), must be registered as a speaker. No other registration type will be accepted.
PAPER TEMPLATES
The provided MS-Word and LaTeX templates, which are according to the INSTICC-SciTePress standards, should be used for all paper formats. Authors are requested not to modify the template while formatting their camera-ready submission. Each submission will be analyzed and if any formatting error is found, it may be sent to the authors for proper re-formatting.
If the template is not used then the authors have to assure the correct papers formatting otherwise the camera-ready submission may not be accepted for inclusion in the proceedings. Please, download the Word/LaTeX templates:

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Oral Presentations
The technical session room will be equipped with a computer running Microsoft Windows with Microsoft Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader. By using a pen drive or a CD, speakers may use the above mentioned equipment. Speakers may also use their own computer.
Poster Presentations
Posters will have dedicated sessions during the symposium, during which authors must be next to their poster to answer questions. The poster size must not exceed the A0 (84 cm X 118 cm) portrait format. Please use an appropriate font size for the posters so that they are readable by the participants 1.5 meter away. The poster message should be clear and understandable without oral explanation. Please assure the poster is placed on the board before the beginning of the poster session. Authors are required to stand by their posters during the whole poster session since this is when the participation certificates will be given. The poster presenter must also bring the poster already printed.
